Sainte Camelle belongs to the small village of St. Victor-Rouzaud and lies 6 km. from Pamiers. St. Victor-Rouzaud lies in the departement, the Ariège: one of the least populated departements of France and known for its clean air. Next to the scenery (Pyrenees) the Ariège has also an impressive history. The first cavemen (the caves of Niaux) and off course the Cathars, their history and fall live through in the many castles, churches, châteaus, citadels and bastides. The Ariège is a part of the region the Midi-Pyrenees. A region which comprises eight departements: next to the Ariège the Haute-Garonne, Gers, Tarn-et-Garonne, Lot, Tarn, Aveyron and les Hautes-Pyrénées. Each of them offers numerous possibilities for unforgettable trips. Besides that, the Ariège lies next to another more well known region: the Languedoc-Roussillon, the biggest vineyard of France. The nearest city for shopping is Pamiers at 6 kilometers (schools, pharmacies, supermarkets, cinema, etcetera), the hospital lies at 30 kilometers, airports at one hour by car (Toulouse en Carcassonne), the beach at 90 minutes by car (Narbonne Plage). Further there is tax-free shopping and skiing in Andorra at also 90 minutes by car. The nearest ski-run is in Ax-les-Thermes at one hour by car.
Main house
The main house has a spacious living room with open plan kitchen, 6 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with wc and a separate toilet. Furthermore there is a potery and a large garage. On the attic one can stand up. The buildings are recently renovated (1994) to a high standard and are instantly inhabitable.
Gîte
The gîte used to be a hay barn, which is totally rebuilt. Now this is the guesthouse that is for rent all year round. The guesthouse is suitable for 4-10 persons. On two floors there are 2 living rooms, 5 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with wc and a separate toilet.
Furthermore there is an old ruin which can be converted.
